| Synopsis:
In the 1800's there was a woman that little children would take their old teeth (ones they had recently lost) to in exchange for a gold coin. A few years later, tragedy struck her, first a fire in her house which caused her to not be able to go into any type of light, and then she was hanged. There's a story that goes around the town of Darkness Falls about her, and she's called the Tooth Fairy. The story goes that she can't go in the light, and if you wake up and see her, she'll kill you. The usual saying is "Don't Peek." Well, there is a boy named Kyle who gets a warning from his friend Caitlin to not peek. Well, he wakes up on the night when the Tooth Fairy is supposed to come and get his last tooth and sees her. It all leads to more tragedy and the movie jumps to 12 years later. Now grown up, Caitlin (emma caulfield) calls Kyle (chaney kley) because her little brother Michael (lee cormie) is going through the same things he did as a boy, and wants his help. |

Watch Your Expectations April 18, 2008 Jesse Derouen (Southern Louisiana, USA) Whether this movie is any good or not depends on what you expect from it. There are a few moments you can find yourself startled, but not often enough. On the other hand, the screeching of Matilda (the evil Tooth Fairy) becomes pretty funny over the course of the movie. Overall it's not a movie I'd buy if I lost my copy.
One of the worst horror films of 2003 April 1, 2008 Derrick Dunn (Woodbridge,VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Darkness Falls is a film I skipped seeing in the theater because honestly horror films like this shouldn't be rated PG-13 as a matter of act they should go staright to video. I rented this video hoping for a good horror film but alas I was upset. The lead actor Chaney Kley gives a terrible peformance but the worst performance comes from Lee Cormie I was wishing the whole movie that he would bite the dust. The only thing that makes the film worth viewing is hottie Emma Caulfield other wise skip this one.
My dentist is much scarier than this Tooth Fairy February 2, 2008 THE MAIN MAN (Central Bookin', NY) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
A semi decent ghost tale based on the Tooth Fairy. A woman was killed being blamed for the disappearance of two children. She put a curse on the town and since then has returned to exact her revenge. Darkness Falls began interesting enough but the antagonist, who is the Tooth Fairy. Lost her spark early in the movie. Simply because of too many appearances and just not enough flash. It just wasn't scary anymore, not that it ever was to begin with. Hearing a spirit growling and hissin' in the dark does get old. And that's one of the things this movie does wrong. The Tooth Fairy wasn't that bad of a character. In fact a few scenes towards the end is what saves this movie from being a train wreck. The scenes during the hospital escape utilized the dark atmosphere of this movie the best. Plus the acting was pretty good, especially when compared to what the horror genre usually dishes out. I didn't find Darkness Falls to be that bad of a movie. It may be worth a rental for some. It's definitly not horrible to me. Now House 2 and Boogeyman, thats horrible. And Darkness Falls is not horrible to me.
Semi-Scary January 18, 2008 Lonnie D. Brewer (Burnet, Texas USA) This was a fair movie. Not a lot of scare to it, though. Good story and acting. Don't spend too much on this and you'll be glad.
Toothless December 31, 2007 S. K. Harrell (NC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Someone told me this was the scariest horror film he'd ever seen. I think that person should stay home more, and not rest his laurels on his movie reviewing skills. I can't think of another horror film in the last 5 years that was worse than this one--and I don't want to. The premise was interesting enough with its Ring-like introduction and legendary hooks. A woman wrongly accused of being a childkiller returns from the grave to kill children as the Tooth Faerie, upon losing their last baby tooth. Maybe the first 30 minutes of the film were interesting with quite creepy visuals, but beyond that very nonintuitive leaps were made in the plot--one too many changes of heart and nicks of time--and I just viewed its remainder as a comedy. After that shift in focus I liked it very much.
